Default Pics from crash near Benalla yesterday

Photos of the crash near Benalla yesterday. How to destroy a Police car, apparently it had only 26k's on the clock. It was driven from the Police Station to the crash scene, then this.....

I have just heard that fuel tank didn't erupt and the air bags didn't go off.

Thank goodness there was nobody in the car.The airbags wouldn,t have gone of due to it being a rear end collision.Surprises me how the driver never saw the car stopped there. Then again after travelling that road as often as I have, and seeing some absolutely crazy things done, it shouldn't really surprise me.

The story goes the Police car was parked at the scene of another truck crash where a truck carrying a boat had gone off an embankement into a creek.

The Police car was supposed to be on point protecting the scene when another truck whose driver obviously wan't paying attention plowed into the back of it.

There was no-one in it.

haha come on... that looks like 80km/h+ sort of rear impact, any car is going to crumple.

And yes, being a rear ender the bags didn't go off.. maybe that's some food for thought for car manufacturers... especially on Europe's motorways. I'm guessing the accident had something to do with the snow on the road ?!! Or is that fire fighting foam ? (sorry haven't read the article yet).

Pretty scary stuff... wonder if head/tail/roof lights were on? Admittedly it would be fairly difficult to spot a car on a highway if there was no illumination - of course that's no excuse for inattentive driving...

How to deal with mobile speed cameras

Kinda makes you worry about Truck drivers... everyone knows some take drugs to stay awake that can affect judgement... He'd be in some serious for that one I can assure you all now

And that commodore is totalled. Bloody lucky the cops weren't inside. If the truck still managed to hit him with the cop lights and everything on he has some serious Q's to answer to...

Yes.

There were the lights on the car on PLUS additional lights and traffic direction devices set up on the road.

The thing would have been visible (given it was dark) from miles away.
