yeah it would be strange to see the tornado and super pursuit on Top Gear, I think the world would be shocked at what aussies can produce.

OK well, Ill send this in a sec, unless everyone thinks its a dumb idea, but hey I think its worth a shot!
Oh, GT and Monaro owners, dont get to crabby, just trying to be light hearted. _____________________ Hey Guys, Great show etc etc, Im sure you get that all the time. I’m from Australia (the one where that Monaro comes from, meh its ok) and while we are about two seasons behind you lucky buggers, Top Gear has a pretty big following for a show that doesn't get any advertising. Anyway, so many times I have seen you guys praise the Holden Monaro; but not once has there been any mention of what Ford in Australia produce. Ok, so there are no coupes, but not everyone is single and prefers the company of other men. I’m sure that you are aware of FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles), and if you are not; then you are missing out. They have two saloons that I would think that you guys would be interested in. There is the GT (which has nothing to do with that US version, ours works), which has a quad cam V8 making 388 BHP. Its a very good performer all round; but its exactly what a GT should be, a quick saloon that can chew up miles for breakfast. On the other hand, there is also the F6 Typhoon, which has a 4.0L DOHC Turbo putting out 363BHP. It’s a tad lighter, thus nimbler and is what the more outgoing person might purchase who enjoys a bit of boost. If you would like to get your hands on a F6, follow this link and I am sure the gentleman could help you out. http://www.aus-ford-uk.co.uk/html/f6_typhoon.html It seems as though there are a few Brits who enjoy performance motoring, while having the convenience of four doors and a large trunk. A comparison with the Monaro would be a great idea, and perhaps even some of the heavy hitters from Germany (AMG, M series). While it mightn't have the high class polish of the BMW's or Merc’s, for the price tag, I doubt there would be anything that gets close to its overall performance. I eagerly look forward to your response. Regards, xxxx ___________ What do you think? To much?

Good idea, hopefully they pick it up and we can see some Aussie muscle on Top Gear. Maybe a GT v's F6 comparison even!

Would be great to see it..
I belive there are ZERO plans for exports to the UK or europe for the Falcon. Typical tho. The brits don't know what they are missing. Even the owner went back to britian and then released he needed one. I don't think clarkson would be up to testing it. Didn't the monaro put him in a wheelchair? |

Polyal thats an excellent letter, hopefully they will actually read it and give it a try. Would be incredibly cool to see the car tested on a "real car show", oz car shows plain suck.
Good luck !

You approach the Monaro thing as if they tested it because they heard it was good.
I do recall them testing a VT Clubsport or GTS over there but take into consideration that the HSV GTS was a limited edition in the UK. And the Monaro they tested wasn't exactly a Monaro, it was a Vauxhall VXR or whatever they are badged as. I'm sure no doubt if the F6 was offered in the UK by a Ford arm, then Top Gear would more than likely test it, but it's not, which is the obvious reason why it hasn't been tested.

Top Gear test heaps of cars, the Enzo's etc etc they get are owned by private people, no reason why it cant be the same with the F6. Like I said, worth a shot, only took 2 mins to type up.

I would be quite surprised to see them test it, without the car being for sale there. Having said that I'd would really love to see JC take it for a thrash and Stiggy go for a lap.

http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vx/carsand...andName=monaro They've tested cars not offered by UK companies before (Nissan Murano springs to mind - and I'm sure there were more) Good job on the letter too - should have hit them up for an "I AM THE STIG" shirt like Webber's... |
