Default Heads up to VSS Attendees

G'day fellas,

Just thought I'd let you in on a handy piece of information in case you don't read the VicStreetScene forums.

The mini meets we run on Tuesday's recently moved to Ringwood HiFi Supermarket. A new meet point for us but due to a City of Knox police officer we had to move away from the area, or face him being around to sort us out each week.

Last week I was at the meet for a brief stop, was in the middle of moving house.

I had a bit of feedback to say that the behaviour at the meet was generally pretty pathetic. I wasn't really watching it, nor taking any notice of who the people who were doing it, but all sources tell me a fair few of "the e-series boys" were getting a bit sideways leaving the carpark.

All cool, I'm not going to talk down at you because I'm no angel when it comes to these things - but if you weren't in the know, I'm not the person who owns VSS. I am a junior administrator for the club, and advertise and get the word out about our events as you have experienced here.

My buddy Steve who runs the club predominantly has posted up saying that the behaviour needs to stop, otherwise our mini meets will be cancelled and invite only meets will start. This isn't so we can go and be stupid, it's to keep those who do want to be stupid away from what for alot of us is just socialising with a twist of automotive theme.

Can we all please hold back from misbehaving at VicStreetScene events from now on? I'm not entirely certain who it was doing it, and this isn't at all sided to just pick on people from E-Series. There are also other members that attend our meets who have been issued with warnings and so forth.

The police have asked us if we want to continue having such meets - which I believe you all rather enjoy due to the numbers we are pulling on a Tuesday night of all nights, that we will need to provide statements with registrations and descriptions of all vehicles breaking the law. (This refers to burnouts, street racing, etc. Not defects or vehicle power.)

Hope you guys can help us with what we feel is one of the best open car clubs in Melbourne.

Cheers

Nick

Shame when it gets to this sort of action, but I have to say I saw it coming. Now to wait for Sunny to say I am wrong :yeees:

*removed*

However i'm just going by info i've been told by a few mates of mine who go to the events.

The only reason i typed the *removed* bit was because i've wanted to come along for a while now and it was frustrating to hear the stories!

i know you guys are organising sponsorships etc at the moment so i wish you all the best. And if you reckon the night is going to be relatively well behaved then i'd love to come. Was just an opinion.

Before anyone wants to jump in and diss our club please consider that behaviour like this has not actually at all been a regular thing for our meets. I don't know why people are saying things about the general behaviour of our club.

I have been to all bar one meet organised by VSS since I moved down here in late May. I have had a lot to do with organising 80% of these meets.

The behaviour, in comparison to some meets I used to go to in Melbourne are quite good in retrospect.

A couple of burnouts here and there are to be expected at all meets. It's inevitable.

To say you've heard bad stories.... that's a bit unfair and pinning us down harder than we need to be.

This action that is on threat is to ensure we don't have a bad reputation as it is not in the eyes of our club something we want to be known for.

I guess when say maybe 20 or so cars out of well over 100 do burnout, well more like small wheel spins its not a huge number really just seems alot in the scheme of things.

Thanks for that LTDHO, I had a feeling someone would bring that one up and that's fine. As I said, I'm no real angel. I'm passing this message on from the VSS owners as it seems they very well will report people misbehaving.

In regards to my behaviour at the last E-Series cruise, I've spoken to John about it in the proper fashion and that issue is between myself and those who run the club. This thread is about the future - many people including myself have induldged in being a bit silly from time to time, and whilst it has been agreed that I would not do anything to hurt the reputation of E-Series from that point, I'm hoping certain people (no specifics) can do the same for us?

There was no need for a real dig, as I said, it's not me who is enforcing these rules as it would appear that I'd be a hypocrit to do so.

There was a bike doing a nice burnout

Mabey this gave the message that it's allright for that sorta behaviour if this person can getaway with doing it.

No one told him to stop or anything im sure you no who im talking about

What JJM Said was correct. Any one in a ford e-series loosing traction wasent a member. They were random's.

As I said I'm not all that certain.

This thread wasn't created as a warning purely for E-Series members, it's a warning created for anyone attending our mini meets.

All good anyhow. I don't have the internet at home so no MSN for me at the moment, if you need to chat to me PM or email nick@vicstreetscene.com

Cheers

exacly, now i dont know everyone at vss but i know that it was on of the people orginising these events that just stood there and laughed as he bagged it up, even someone helping him lift up the rear, and as a *A sat there bagging it up in the e-series section and a vn commo, they were told off by that person

as i said, in the e-series section

really at the end of the day im only there to make sure if theres e-series doing burnouts ill deal with them (which i will cause i know who did it) anyone else i dont care but if there doing it where we were all parked, then its just the same at our cruises if outsiders/insiders do them

Who ever runs your bloody meet should put a big sticker on his car VSS will not be held liable and does not promote this hoonish behavior... that ****s the people doing it, saves teh clubs and stops lots of law suits, trust me I know what its like to have a driver say to the cop, but the club was promoting it.... not good.

Unfortunatly cruises that are "open" as such just invite this type of behaviour.

Ive only ever seen one e-series car do a skid and that was about a month ago, since then its never happened again. As joe mentioned all us e-series guys park together usually, but last week we had a few other cars around us that were causing the troubles. All e-series members cars have the stickers on them, the e-series guys aren't people who rip skids for the sake of it, i know that as a fact.

I can also vouch that i followed out 5 cars which all got there cars sideways around the u-turn heading back towards croydon along Maroondah Hwy.

Ballarat is FAR worse than melbourne for in regards to police cracking down on hoons. Per capita, I would say that the level of "hoonism" is about 5 times higher as well, even with said police presence on the prowl. I'd say that no burnouts at a meet of 40 cars is almost impossible in ballarat, and if true, then it was extremely well organised.

You sir are a twit.

Our club has cruise guidelines which are displayed on our website. I will HAPPILY go to court over someone accusing VicStreetScene of promoting that sort of behaviour.

40 cars is not a lot in the scheme of things, but the disappointing part of it is that we usually have worse behaviour at our mini meets than our monthly cruises which exceed 150 cars easily.

I've been a member of VSS since the beginning, but havn;t had a chance to go to any meets lately because of me living in Adelaide.
I went to the mini last week (i was back in melb) and it was good to see how many cars turn up to the mini's now since the days of old. But it was also disappionting to see the behaviour of some

Sheesh, that was a bit of a nasty blow.

Anybody who has anything to do with cruises knows, it's very difficult to keep peoples behaviour at a decent level. It's a shame it's had to come to this thread, but hopefully at all meets (eseries, vss and otherwise) if people are seen acting like morons, it's made obvious it isn't welcome and they will not be praised for it.

all it takes is self control on behalf of the members.. if that can't happen, those members shouldn't be allowed to attend.
