Default Help, I look like a remote control car

DAMMIT :

Got up thismorning and the arial is stuck up. Must have not gone down lastnight. Tried using the button to make it go up and down, but its just making a terrible noise.

Is it screwed, or is there a way to fix it ?

I need to fix it soon, as i keep having urges to pick up a remote and drive it around my driveway.

10-4 Good buddy :

I'd guess either the teeth have come out of alignment, or the little electric motor doesn't want to play ball anymore. Those would be my guesses.

My arial is the same. is the motor still driving it (you should be able to hear it). If so, it is just the nylon strap in the arial that needs replacing with a new telescopic bit, not the whole thing. I've just never got around to doing mine, to lazy :P

get in the wheel arch.
u have to remove the black plastic crap.
there should be some metal tabs that hold it (just bend them straight)
not sure if there is any screw/clips for that section.

but anyway, its just behind that

while your there you may as well scrape out all the built up dirt from behind the guard as well......slows the rusting process down.

I had the same problem with a mates NC fairlane, the plastic strip with the teeth in one side that pushes the areal up & down was toothless, so the motor was just slipping. It's cheap to replace, & can be brought seperately. It's just a pain to get the areal out.
