Welcome to the forums. Kays sound good, and the price sounds good too. Take it for a test drive. If everything seems to be in order, it may be a very good car.

thanks guys yeah it was a really smooth drive been for 2 test drives, he has a genuine reason for sale cos his wife wants it gone as he just got a new company car, he's had the radiator, headers and a bit more work done saw some receipts for it all earlier, its the dark green colour, tyres were at 70% or something, he said it needs a new fuel pump and a little bit of rust around the rear window but it still passed rego so seems very much so rust free, i checked around the boot and inner linings and found a very small amount on the rear drivers side door, but yeah everything else seems in great condition but only time will tell with the nrma check up so yeah hopefully all will work out

^ yeah, same opinion here, lukeyboy make sure to check around the head for coolant/oil leaks to make sure the head gasket isnt leaking, if it is leaking try to get the price down a bit

Pretty good price for a fairmont!! Best bet is to get a mechanic to have a good look at it all!! Especially head gasket leaks..common problem

Redbook private sale average price for a '95 Fairmont EF II 4 sp auto is $2,000 to $4,100.
$4,500 sounded a little high to me. Add to that your repairs and .... I agree with getting an inspection. If the seller doesnt' meet your price then don't worry about it. walk away. You can fall in love with one car and think it's a good deal but it is totally true that another or even a better deal will come along. it's a buyers market (especially for larger used cars) out there now. |
