Default Ford Focus 2008 American Model

A new year is here. So of course that means a new you and new resolutions to keep (or break—whatever, we're not gonna judge). But what you probably didn't know is that this year is also bringing a completely updated ride to vibe with that new you: the '08 Focus.

You remember Focus, right? It debuted as the little car with the perky techno soul. Well now, that vehicle with zippy performance and the glow stick attitude has gone techie. That's right, from techno to techie. Excited yet?

Sync: Your new communications center
So let's talk about what techie means for ’08. You already know that Focus driving dynamics and styling have gotten plenty of shout outs from the press and drivers alike through the years. But at the heart of the newly redesigned '08 Focus is a little piece of technology simply called Sync.™ In a nutshell, Sync allows you to, well sync up, with the people and music in your life—right from the comfort of the front seat. So get ready to welcome your cell phone (plus Bluetooth devices), iPod®, and all your other beloved electronic gadgets to your new mobile crib.

More features for 2008
What else makes the new Focus the right vehicle for the new year and the brand new you? Well, how about the completely redesigned exterior and interior, improved driving dynamics and suspension, a roomy cabin, and all the safety and security you'd expect from the Ford brand. Oh, and one more thing: Focus is still the affordable little buddy it’s been from the get-go.

So whatever the reason for deciding 2008 is the year to rock or even rekindle your relationship with Focus, rest assured, you’re in for some serious F-U-N.

*The 2008 Ford Focus is available in late 2007, but feel free to start drooling over it now.

Not too sure about the front styling of this one? I guess with more pics, my views could change though...

Why do they persist with their own model. I thought they were trying to cut costs....

The only "good" reason I can think of is that they are just trying to keep jobs over there.

Is the American Focus all new, or a facelift of the previous model?

Hopefully with no Americans involved, or I'm buying a Mazda for the next small car.

Americans are too proud to accept that build quality is alot higher on euro cars.

I am so glad aussie ford & holdens lean more toward the technology and styling on euro cars, because if they didnt, the BF would still use a live axle on all models and standard 8 track :

Now I wonder where Ford US got the inspiration for the rear of the the "American" designed Focus?

The in thing thses days seems to be the way the rear part of the headlights sweep towards the A pillars...

First i seen them on the Citroen, then i think the swift has them, the new mid sized holden has them and now the ford seems to have them... and probably a few more, but i cant remember the models lol

Attack of the CLONES!!!!

Typically American. Zero style and appeal. I hope Ford Australia don't look to import that eye sore. My current Focus, will be my last focus. That thing is hideous.

If that the the best Ford USA can design, then the company is doomed. They have such great car designers in Australia and Europe, then choose to ignore them for the American market, and stick with the appalling designs and cars that got them in such trouble in the first place.

The American Focus is based on the original from the late 90's. They are too stupid to get the new Focus. Ford Australia would not **** on this abomination.

Uh uh.....thiers are built in Mexico......like the Fusion!

Totally hideous IMO. And still Ford US wonder why they're losing so much money and market share. The answer is what is coming out of thier design studios and factories!

Ford US's Stubborness will be the be all and end all of them if they dont start to broaden there Horizon and adapt a strategy similar to Ford Australia.
Get the best of what Ford Global have to offer (that is financiall viable), Parts and/or Cars and bring them to the country...Stuff this Global Identity stuff...

Bring in the Fiesta XR4/ST to compete with Scion

Replace the US Focus with the Euro Focus and the XR5/ST and give all the youth orientated companies like Scion etc a Run for the money

Replace the Crown Vic with the Falcon and bring in the Performance car line up to give GM a serious contender...

Oh wait a Minute...this is Ford US...something like this would be too easy to do and make them too much money...I guess they won't do it then.

Bold Moves....yes....Smart Moves?...not necessarily.

No don't like it !

The current C1 styling styling is much cleaner IMO. Check out the Comp pictures of the all new 2009 Euro Focus here:

Now that is a sweet looking machine !! Lets build it here in Oz !
