Car bought: Clio sport
Looked at: 206 GTi and ST-170, would have bought an ST-170 if it wasn't for the price and that they cut all the otional extras that the UK model had and the clio came with. Bought: AU XR8 Looked at: Supra RZ, I intended to buy it but the car dealer couldn't get me a reasonable trade in price and I got no serious calls after advertising the clio at the lowest price for that model for 1 month. I then traded it in for an AU xr8 since the ford dealer could offer a better price for the clio. |

I looked at:
* Focus SR (wasnt keen on it) * 2nd hand 3dr Focus Zetec (waay overpriced) * Fiesta LX brand new (too small) * AU2 Fairmont * Astra (god no, awful, awful interior) * Barina (too small) * Peugeot (I like them a lot but a little too much $$) Then the perfect Focus for me came in so I bought it .

I was looking for a new manual XR6T in Blueprint.
Car Bought: New XR6T manual in Blueprint. The day i saw the new XR6T on the news when it 1st came out, i said to my mum, "mum, i want one of them". She said, "well, if you save up and get a small loan, you couid get one". And she was right. Then i got on the net and joined the old FF.com forum and got in contact with RATT and he did me a great deal on the car. Good old Peter Warren Smithfield. :

Wanted - R31 Skyline, Bought - R31 Skyline.
Selling the skyline tho, i went through so many different cars i wanted, holdens, ford, nissans, toyotas....ended up: Wanting - EB/ED V8 Fairmont Unfortunately E series V8's are still sooo damn expensive (for me anyways), this shady guy at car city was trying to talk me into an ED with 280,000 km's on it for $8k, and started to get really ****ed off when i told him there was no way i was signing anything that day. out: Bought - ED Fairmont 6 Came up at the best price, on gas, in great condition, in the best colour e series (cobalt blue : ), just couldn't refuse. Methinks i'll stick with Ford from now on :

Wasn't looking at anything at the time. My ol' man told me about a Falcon wagon a friend of his was going to sell. It was about that time we realised my Telstar was starting to show a few signs of age after it was tuned up a bit (blowing a bit of smoke on take-off). The Falcon had everything I wanted, with most mods already done to it. The initiative was taken, and all I need to do is get rid of the Telstar to fund additional repairs & a decent stereo
The only thing I was concerned about was fuel and size, but I've found as long as I keep it out of city traffic I'm fine. I've always preferred the versatility of a wagon though. |

Bought: EL Fairmont Ghia V8
Looked at: Not much else. At the time I was driving a VS Berlina and after wasting thousands on mods I still wasn't happy. I wanted to come back to the Blue Oval. My brother and I were out that day and stopped by Car City for a look. After seeing not much we spotted this Gunmetal EL Ghia with "V8" plastered across the windscreen. We had a good look, and it had the right k's, the right condition and a test drive sealed the deal. Best decision I ever made

Bought: XR6T
Looked at: WRX WRX STi BA GT Looking ahead in the future: Liberty GT I always had the heart set on the XR6T but I had a look around first. Didn't like the WRX or STi. They are nice cars but very plain and plasticy inside which I didn't like. Seriously considered the GT but couldn't see the justification in paying that much for very little performance gain over the XR6T. Never considered the XR8 as they have never done a thing for me. So it was the XR6T with various options and upgrades to take it to the price of the GT and I couldn't be happier.

Bought: NC II 302
Looked at: XD 351's, XE Spac EFI's, ZK/ZL fairlanes I was planning on saving and buying outright, but the NC came up pretty cheap considering options, sound system, just fully tuned and serviced, rear window motors replaced (someone took them out :S), paid $5k for it, my cousin paid $5,500 for it, talking the dealer down from about $7,500 then added all his sound gear as well as an alarm/immobiliser ($1k of my own money, $4k loan) Last edited by FordFan86; 07-05-2005 at 08:22 PM. |

After a lifetime of Ford's, it was time for a change. The EF XR6 had to go and a replacement was sought. Had to be an Auusie V8. Seeing that late model Falcon V8's left ALOT to be desired performance wise (not including BA) an LS1 powered Holden was the only real choice. Besides, AU's are UGLY.
Ended up in a Black Calais 5.7 which I think is the ducks guts right now, and uses less fuel than the XR6.

Was looking at a 1990 black Camaro whilst looking at the EB II GLi. Got a price for a window seal for the Camaro ($250- each!!!). Kept driving the EB, kept looking at the Camaro and started picking flaws in it.
Bought the EB II GLi and all was good. _2:

Bought : AU XR6 Series 1
Considered : EF & EL XR6 + XR8, AU XR6 (inc VCT) + XR8 in a series 1 or 2, Skyline turbo. Insurance prices and petrol costs helped make the decision. I wanted the 8 but the evil half wouldn't have been able to cover the costs of fuel so we went the 6. The EF/EL's were also quite a lot more pricier than the AU's in insurance. An AU2 is what I would have liked. There was an awesome silver AU2 VCT model just staring out at me on my way to work each day but the trade in prices they were offering were crap. In the end the car had to be manual and black with a sunroof as a really nice finishing touch. In the end one of the cars we were trading in ran out of rego so we had to make a quick decision and ended up with the AU XR6.
